Very few students said they’d been flying in a plane during an airport simulation event April 28 at Gillett Secondary School, but they received the finer points as they took a mock flight to Puerto Rico.

Josie Holtz is the only candidate for the Oconto County Youth Fair’s 2026 Fairest of the Fair.

Holtz graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 2025 and is completing her first year of college at UW-Milwaukee. While in high school, she participated in a number of organizations, including National Honor Society, FFA, FBLA, band and several sports.

The Casimir Pulaski Days celebration will not be held in 2027, organizers announced following an April 22 meeting. While this longstanding community tradition will not take place next year, the organization is leaving the door open for its return in the future.
