WRESTLING Hawks lose 2 in double dual Wyatt Welch of Shawano Community High School won both of his matches at a double dual Thursday at Luxemburg-Casco, but the Hawks dropped both team matches to L-C, 64-9, and Denmark, 63-15. Bonduel wrestling honors two
The Bonduel wrestling program inducted two more members Thursday during the high school dual meet against Rosholt. The inductees were Dale Lintner and Ross Berkhahn. Lintner earned the honor by being one of the Bonduel program’s best fans. An active member of the Bonduel Booster Club, Lintner helps set up and serve food at the sports banquets, as well as helping pick up products to stock the concession stands.

The Green Bay Packers keep absorbing the hits on the offensive line. As far as the linemen are concerned, better that they take the blows than quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Front fives don’t usually draw much attention.
Coaching change means fresh start for SCHS wrestlers
Michael Homan, the new Shawano Community High School wrestling coach, knows a little bit about the program he’s taking over from former coach Adam Bieber. “I started wrestling in this room,” Homan said Monday after practice in the SCHS wrestling room. A 2004 SCHS graduate, Homan was a state qualifier his senior year.

Packers Play Your Game If the Green Bay Packers play the way they did against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, they could lose to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If the Packers play solid, though, there are not too many teams that stand a chance against them. Whatever the Packers do, they need to get back to playing their game. The Packers put together winning streaks of four and five games this season playing mistake-free football.
Helen Mary Johanek
Helen M. Johanek, 90, of Shawano, died on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014. Helen was born on July 15, 1924, in Oconto Falls, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Novak) Chlopek. On Nov. 24, 1945, Helen was united in marriage to Alois L. Johanek at St. Kasimir Catholic Church in Krakow. Alois preceded her in death on May 21, 2003. Helen’s faith was a very important part of her life.

Carole M. Alft, 75, of Tigerton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire. Funeral arrangements are still pending with the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton.
Myrtle M. Feivor
Myrtle M. Feivor, 85, of Shawano, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at The Cottages in Shawano where she had been a resident for the past three years. Funeral service arrangements are pending and will be announced on Saturday. EddaMae Bohardt
EddaMae Bohardt, 79, of Shawano, died on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014. EddaMae was born on Sept. 11, 1935, in Tigerton, the daughter of the late Earl and Wilma (Reinhart) Kauffman. On Aug. 4, 1951, EddaMae was united in marriage to Otis “Walter” Bohardt Jr. at Peace United Church of Christ. Walter preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2010. EddaMae was a cook in several local restaurants, including the L & L for 35 years.
