Norbert R. Tiegs, 96, Lena, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at his home. Norbert was born Jan. 5, 1929, in Lena to the late Raymond and Ora (Degeneffe) Tiegs. Norbert grew up at Cream City and Five Corners and graduated from Lena High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-54 and was stationed in Korea. He married Lorraine Bourassa in 1955 and lived in his Town of Stiles residence until present.

Spring weight restrictions will be removed on Shawano County trunk highways beginning April 16, officials announced. Seasonal weight limits were put in place March 10. They remain in effect the next few days. The weight restrictions are 6 tons for a single axle, 10 tons for a tandem axle and a maximum gross weight of 26 tons. Seasonal weight restrictions are placed on specific highways during the spring thaw period.
