Three homes on Eagle Drive and one on Green Bay Avenue reported April 5 that eggs were thrown at their homes sometime during the previous night. On April 6, a father of an Oconto Falls fifth-grade girl reported his daughter received a threatening message on Instagram from two fifth-grade boys. Police met with the boys, who apologized. A burglary was reported at The Pawn Shop, 219 N. Main St., April 6.

A Green Bay firm has been selected to redevelop the Abrams School entrance. In August, voters approved a referendum of $660,000 for redesign and construction of parking lots and entrance points at the school. Project manager Jeff Bahling, of the Rettler Corporation, presented seven bids for the work to the School Board on April 13. Robert A. “Bob” Calewarts, 86, Suamico, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born Sept. 10, 1928, to Harvey and Lucille (Roskom) Calewarts. On April 7, 1951, he married the former Joyce Vollmar at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard. Joyce preceded Bob in death on Jan. 5, 2013. After graduating from West High School, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Mary “Elaine” Niemann (Grindle), 78, Mountain, died peacefully April 14, 2015. Elaine was born in Oconto to the late Frank and Leona Grindle, and lived her entire life on the family’s homestead in an area of Mountain referred to as Pine Stump. Elaine graduated from Suring High School and married the love of her life, the late Doug Niemann, of Milwaukee. It was 15 years ago that residents living along the path around the Falls voted on referendum to essentially double the size of Oconto Falls High School and approve additions to four other school buildings. The committee working the proposal was headed by Cheryl Clark and Bill Kamke.
