Manhunt suspect still on the loose

A suspect wanted in Maryland and Wisconsin is still at large, according to Oconto Falls Police Chief Brad Olsen, who initiated alerts through the county’s emergency system May 8 in an attempt to locate the fugitive. Highland Drive intersection to reopen
The intersection of Highland Drive and state Highway 22 is set to reopen as promised on Wednesday, according to information provided by Duke Peters, project manager for Peters Concrete Company, the primary contractor for the Highway 22 reconstruction project in Oconto Falls. The intersection by United True Value has been closed since April 30 as part of the reconstruction of 1.6 miles of Highway 22 from East Highland Drive to West Highland Drive.

Jenna Herzog crowned 2015 Fairest of the Fair
The niece of Oconto County’s first Fairest of the Fair will wear the crown in 2015. Jenna Herzog was selected as the 2015 Senior Fairest of the Fair and will serve as hostess of the 2015 Oconto County Fair from Aug. 20-23.

More homes demolished north of courthouse
A home listed on the Wisconsin Architecture and History Inventory was demolished Friday in Oconto, after state historical experts and the Department of Natural Resources gave Oconto County officials the go-ahead to proceed. The Antoine Martineau Home, 619 Park Ave., Oconto, is one of 14 properties the county purchased north of the courthouse where a new law enforcement center will be constructed.
