Upgrade proposed for county fair structure

Visitors to the Shawano County Fair this year could be enjoying the present while also getting a glimpse of the future. His goals came in the 43rd, 75th and 84th minutes. Jacob Moesch had one assist for the Hawks. Juan Santiago scored the lone goal for Clintonville in the 81st minute.
SCHS drops conference opener to Xavier
Shawano Community High School head tennis coach Brian Beyer knew Xavier could pose a problem to his team in its Bay Conference opener because of its consistently strong tennis program. Despite a 7-0 loss, Beyer was happy with the performance of his team, which produced tight matches throughout the day. Xavier sent two flights to state last season, including current No. 1 singles player Marissa Walsh.

Highway 22 between Shawano, Cecil closed
State Highway 22 between Shawano and Cecil has been closed for replacement of a bridge over the Shawano Tributary in the town of Washington. The state Department of Transportation said both north and southbound lanes would remain shut down between Hillcrest Road and Cedar Lane until late October. The driver authorities believe was responsible for the death of highway worker Derek Stempa at a road construction site in May has died, the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday. Sheriff Adam Bieber said his office was intending to refer charges against Dennis St. John, 69, of Tigerton. But the office learned earlier this week that St. John had passed away on Aug.
