Shawano falls to Denmark The Shawano Community High School football team (3-5, 3-4 Bay) is down to one chance to make the WIAA playoffs after losing to Bay Conference foe Denmark (4-4, 3-4 Bay) 43-8 Friday night in Denmark. The Hawks still have a chance to make the playoffs if they beat Luxemburg-Casco on Friday in Luxemburg. No stats were available by the Leader’s press time. Chargers beat by Amherst The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School football team lost 47-6 to Amherst in a Central Wisconsin Conference-8 game Friday in Wittenberg. Chargers quarterback Sam Szews went six of 12 for 34 yards. Keegan Miller had 16 carries for 81 yards and the only score of the game for the Chargers (1-7, 0-6 CWC-8). Tyler Milanowski had four catches for 23 yards. Connor Zblewski had 13 carries for 107 yards and two touchdowns for Amherst (7-1, 5-1 CWC-8).
