Bears advance in tourney The No. 2 Bonduel High School softball team advanced in the WIAA Division 3 regional tournament with a 16-2 win over No. 7 Wabeno/Laona in five innings Thursday in Bonduel. Jennifer Dowden earned the win and was 4 for 4 with an RBI. She allowed three hits, walked none and struck out 10. Miranda Schmidt went 4 for 4 and had two RBIs. The Bears amassed 17 hits in the game. Bonduel on Tuesday will host No. 3 Crivitz, which beat No. 6 Coleman 15-5 in six innings Thursday. Bowler girls upset Manawa The sixth-seeded Bowler High School softball team beat No. 3 Manawa 10-7 in the Division 4 regional game Thursday in Manawa. Erika Wolf was 3 for 4 with three RBIs to lead Bowler. Brooke Breitrich was 3 for 4 and had two RBIs. Ashlynn Brisk was 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI. Kristina Koenig earned the win for the Panthers. Eagles fall to Crandon The fifth-seeded Menominee Indian High School softball team was edged by No. 4 Crandon 4-3 in the first round of the Division 3 regional Thursday in Crandon. Crandon scored in the bottom of the seventh to break a 3-3 tie after battling back from being down 3-0 in the first inning. Taylor Mahkimetas allowed nine hits, four runs, three walks and struck out nine in 6 2-3 innings of work. Other softball scores Division 2: No. 7 Clintonville lost to No. 2 Green Bay Notre Dame 10-0. No. 6 Wittenberg-Birnamwood lost to No. 3 Antigo 10-7. Division 4: No. 2 Marion beat No. 7 Gresham 17-3 in five innings. Hawks lose to West De Pere The Shawano Community High School baseball team lost 10-3 to West De Pere in a Bay Conference game Thursday in Shawano. Clint Dallas took the loss, pitching 3 1-3 innings and allowing three walks, six hits and seven runs. He struck out one. Jaryd Wilber had a home run for Shawano (4-14, 4-10 Bay). Aaron Fink allowed two hits and struck out three in four innings of work for West De Pere (14-7, 9-5). Bonduel beats Manawa in six The Bonduel High School baseball team beat Manawa 13-3 in six innings Thursday in Bonduel. Jake Luepke earned the win for the Bears (12-4, 10-3 Central Wisconsin Conference-8). He allowed three runs, seven hits and struck out two. Hunter VanderLinden led Bonduel’s bats, going 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Lloyd Allen was also 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. Colton Dobratz and Kyle Fischer each had two hits. Hawks top D.C. Everest The Shawano Community High School boys tennis team beat beat D.C. Everest 4-3 in a meet Tuesday on the road. The Hawks’ singles players swept their opponents, while all three doubles teams lost. Patarpol Chittanorak beat Keng Yancy 4-6, 6-3, 6-2; Zach Soper defeated Max Brink, 6-0, 3-6, 6-4; Tim Hoffman topped Manning Denk, 6-2, 7-5; and Connor Neumann-Sleeper beat Joe Ziolkowski, 6-1, 7-5.
