Joseph “Joe” Schwebl III, 55, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, in Shawano. Born on Feb. 3, 1959, in LaGrange, Illinois, he is the son of Joseph Schwebl Jr. and the late Carol (Marohl) Schwebl.
He was employed by the Oneida Casino as a security officer. Joe was known as a “jack of all trades,” which showed in his carpentry skills and his enjoyment of being outside. In addition, he loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Joe is survived by his fiancee, Mary McVey and her children, Amber (Eric) Endries and Michael (Marie) McVey; his father, Joseph (Lee Becker) Schwebl, of Shawano; five sisters, Pamela Schwebl, of Tampa, Florida, Catherine Schwebl-Waits, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Dorothy Steen, of Tampa, Susan Schwebl, of Tampa, and Carol Lynn (Chris) Traber, of Tampa; eight nieces and nephews, Gregory Steen, Lauren Steen, Nicholas Browne, Ana Waits, Kaylee Browne, Katie Traber, Grayson Traber and Maya Traber.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Carol.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery with the Rev. David Barrett officiating. Visitation will be at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the procession leaves for the cemetery.
