The Shawano Woman’s Club recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Shawano County Historical Society from sales of plants at the annual Rhubarb Fest last month.
Plants for the sale were donated by the members of the community, and master gardeners were on hand during the festival to answer any questions.
“I want to thank all the members for all the effort they put into the sale,” said Mary Krietzer, Shawano Woman’s Club president. “They did a wonderful job.”
All of the proceeds from the sale were donated and will be used by the historical society for operating expenses.
“Our task is never-ending and there is always a need for financial support for what it takes to do our job and for people to get the job done,” said Paul Winter, Shawano County Historical Society president. “The society appreciates this very much.”
The Shawano Woman’s Club was instrumental in getting the historical society started and continues to help it grow.
