Donna R. Arthur, 63, of Green Bay, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 10, 2014, at a local hospital. She was born May 16, 1951, in Shawano to the late Willard and Gwendolyn (Mickel) Martzke.
Donna attended Shawano High School, graduating in 1969. Following high school she obtained her LPN degree from Bellin College of Nursing. Donna married Charles Arthur on Feb. 19, 1972, in Shawano. She practiced nursing as an LPN her entire career. Donna was an active and faithful member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She loved the serenity of the outdoors and spending time with her family camping. Donna had a passion for cooking and making soup for everyone. She never made a “little” soup; it was always “a lot” of soup. Donna’s pride and joy was her family, especially the grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, and their two children, Heather (Jeremy) Pyatskowit and Sarah (Justin) Engel, all of Shawano; two grandchildren, Tucker and Madeline Pyatskowit; three sisters, Sandy Wendorff, Shawano, Cheryl (Peter) Arthur, Seymour, and Hope (Michael) Peters, Keshena; three brothers, Darwin (Ardith Barnes) Martzke, Steven (Debbie) Martzke and Calvin Martzke, all of Shawano; her in-laws, Charlotte Arthur and Marsha Arthur, both Green Bay, Marilyn (Dale Wurt) Arthur, Milwaukee, Paula Arthur, Green Bay, and Jeff (Linda) Arthur, Saukville; many, much loved, nieces and nephews; her best friends, Bonnie and Larry Viste.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Victor and Mary Arthur.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., Green Bay, from 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 120 S. Henry St., after 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Greg Hovland officiating.
