Gregory W. Korth

Greg W. Korth, 56, of the town of Belle Plaine, Shawano County, passed away unexpectedly on Monday June 1, 2015, at the Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Gregory Wayne Korth was born Dec. 7, 1958, in Clintonville, the son of Lois (Westad) and the late Gordon “Tiny” R. Korth. Growing up around the Cloverleaf Lakes presented many opportunities for the Korth boys and their friends to stay busy, boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter, and partying year ‘round. Greg attended Clintonville High School, where he played football and wrestled for the Truckers. After high school, he briefly attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he met and married Beth Edwards. Working as an electrician, Greg worked at Town & Country Electric, Appleton, Krueger Sign & Electric, Clintonville, and Van Ert Electric. His most recent work allowed Greg to travel the Midwest extensively, and he was able to hunt and fish many new areas, a pastime that he loved. He also had a passion for racing in its many forms. Enduro racing and ice racing were up there on his list, and he was also instrumental in the formation of Mid-State Ice Racing, Marion. He enjoyed country music and attended music festivals like Hodag and Fuddfest regularly. Greg will be remembered for his willingness to help anyone who needed it, including helping with yard work for his many neighbors out at the Lakes. He was a father who loved his sons and cherished spending time with them. As fun times spent with family and friends drew to a close toward the end of the night, Greg always said it best; “One more and we’ll all go.” He is survived by his sons, Hans (Nora) Korth, Shalimar, Florida, and Mitchell (Amanda) Korth, Austin, Texas, mother, Lois Korth, Clintonville; grandchildren, Claire (and two more on the way); sisters, Paula Korth, San Diego, California, Dawn Korth, Oconomowoc; brothers: Rodney Korth, Madison, and Curt Korth, Clintonville. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Gordon “Tiny” R. Korth. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory, Clintonville, with the Rev. Willard “Bill” Hager officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. An online guestbook is available at eberhardtstevenson.com.
