In recent months, the Shawano City-County Library has transitioned its former Bookmobile service into a comprehensive delivery service that benefits people and organizations throughout Shawano County. The change has allowed the library to increase the number of patrons served in a more cost-effective way.
The deliveries are designed to serve organizations such as child care centers, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, along with homebound people or those with limited access to physical libraries.
The van makes stops in the communities of Advance, Belle Plaine, Birnamwood, Bowler, Cecil, Eland, Krakow, Tigerton, Tilleda, Wittenberg and Zachow.
Homebound patrons, as well as organizations throughout the city of Shawano, are also served.
Patrons and organizations receive a fresh crate of materials each month. Patrons can assist with designing their individual crate, or library assistants can create the crates for patrons. Crates can include books, periodicals and media items.

The delivery van was funded through the sale of the former Bookmobile and a donation from the Friends of Shawano County Libraries Inc. DotCom Vinyl of Shawano applied the graphics to the van.
The Shawano City-County Library consists of the main library in Shawano and branches in Birnamwood, Bonduel, Mattoon-Hutchins, Tigerton and Wittenberg.
