False imprisonment A Shawano man is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Friday on a felony count of false imprisonment that allegedly occurred during a domestic disturbance in the city. Tony Perez, 38, could face a maximum six years in prison and $10,000 fine if convicted. He is also charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic abuse-related disorderly conduct. Perez is accused of preventing a woman from leaving her home during a domestic altercation on Jan. 6, according to the criminal complaint. Perez was ordered held on a $500 cash bond. Felony OWI A Tigerton man is scheduled for a preliminary hearing next month on a felony charge of seventh-offense operating while intoxicated as a result of a single-vehicle rollover in the town of Fairbanks in November. Lewis J. Balthazor, 59, is accused of being intoxicated when his vehicle rolled over on County Road J near Swamp Road about 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 17. Balthazor was the lone occupant and was pinned under the vehicle, according to the criminal complaint. A preliminary breath test showed a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.13 percent. Balthazor could face a maximum 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine if convicted. He is also charged with a felony count of operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, which carries the same possible penalty. According to court records, Balthazor has one previous OWI conviction in Outagamie County, one in Shawano County, and four in Waupaca County. Balthazor is free on a $25,000 signature bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 18. Sexual assault of a child A Shawano man is facing a felony count of repeated sexual assault of a child. Matthew K. Krueger, 23, is accused of repeated sexual contact with a 14-year-old girl that allegedly took place in the city in July and August of last year. He could face a maximum 40 years in prison and a fine of $100,000 if found guilty. Krueger is free on a $7,500 signature bond and is due back in court Feb. 1 for an adjourned initial appearance. Burglary A Bonduel teen has been charged with a felony count of burglary for allegedly breaking into a shed and stealing an ATV in December. James R. Cackovic, 17, is also charged with a felony count of theft. He could face a maximum 12½ years and $25,000 fine on the burglary charge if found guilty and 3½ years and a $10,000 fine for felony theft. Cackovic is free on a $2,000 signature bond is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Feb. 26.
