Warren G. Griepentrog, 65, of Tigerton, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2015, at a courageous battle with cancer.
Warren Glenn Griepentrog was born on Oct. 30, 1950, in Wausau to George and Judy (McFarlane) Griepentrog. He was raised in Tigerton and attended Tigerton High School, Class of 1968. Warren went on to Northcentral Technical College, where he earned a degree in electronics. Over the years he worked at various jobs, but spent most of his years with these three employers: Arrowcast Foundry in Shawano, Hillshire Farms in New London and Marion Plywood Corporation.
Warren was united in marriage on Oct. 10, 1981, to Ann M. Redman in Neenah. The couple made their home in the Split Rock and Tigerton area. Words like honest, down-to-earth, practical and strong-willed were all traits that described Warren’s personality. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and going fishing, whether around the area for northern pike or going out on Lake Michigan for salmon.
Warren also liked music and he listened to old rock ‘n’ roll or played it on his acoustic guitar, especially songs by Neil Young. He always loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Ann; six children, Jackie (Jamie) Buntrock, of Tigerton, Waylon Griepentrog, of Birnamwood, Elisha (Greg) Perez, of Combined Locks, Andrea (Nate) Adamec, of Tigerton, Cheyann (fiancé Nick Stadler) Griepentrog, of Pewaukee, and Shawnee Griepentrog, of Tigerton; seven grandchildren, Kiasen and Ryan Buntrock, Austin Siverson, Greg and Annabella Perez, Aven Adamec and Alma Stadler; one sister, Cheryl (Robert) Lehman; and two brothers, Randy and Jay Griepentrog, all of Tigerton. There are two sisters-in-law, Beverly (John) Rettkowski-Meverden and Kathy Thiel, both of Tigerton; three brothers-in-law, Roger (Barb) Redman, of Mesa, Arizona, Raymond (Bev) Redman, of Greenville, and David Redman, of Tigerton. Warren is further survived by a sister-in-law, Lori Griepentrog, of Elderon; a brother-in-law, Ronald Haines, of Manawa; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Joshua; a sister, LaVonne (Gerald) Wuske; a brother, Glenn; his father- and mother-in-law, Raymond and Florence Redman; a sister-in-law, Janice Haines; and a brother-in-law, Mike Thiel.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, with the Rev. Clifford Kessen officiating. Friends may call on Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home.
