FBLA members compete at state

Sixteen members of the Oconto Falls High School FBLA Chapter competed at the FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 6 in Appleton. Three qualified for the National Leadership Conference: Liz Coopman, Brittany Russell and Matthew VerVelde. Russell placed first in Public Speaking I and first with Coopman in Partnership with Business. VerVelde placed second in Cyber Security. They will compete at the national contest from June 29-July 2 in Nashville, Tenn. Other Top 10 qualifiers from OFHS were Sabrina Brasier, Mikaela Thomson and Brooke LaCount in Business Ethics and Hunter Reed, and Kaili Kuczynski and James Malcheski in Emerging Business Issues. While at the conference, students toured local businesses, attended workshops, earned recognition for their professional dress and networked with other FBLA members from across the state. The conference started with a keynote speech by Justin Boudreau.
