Missing man found dead in Little River

A missing Peshtigo man was found dead Tuesday morning in the town of Little River, according to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Department. Officials reported receiving a call about a moped being found in a ditch along County Road Y. Law enforcement arrived and found the body of Kelly Peters, 30, near the moped. Peters had been reported missing by the Peshtigo Police Department on June 12. Sheriff’s officials believe Peters lost control of the moped, entered the east ditch and struck a bridge embankment, which caused severe blunt force trauma to his head and upper torso. The Sheriff’s Department is waiting for toxicology results. The investigation is ongoing. This is the second fatal accident for Oconto County this year.
