Nancy Kathleen (Davis) Peterson, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 21, 2015.
Born in Cambridge, Ohio, on Aug. 13, 1942, the daughter of Myron and Ismay Davis, Nancy graduated from Cambridge High School and Kent State University.
Nancy taught first, second and fourth grades at Frazeysburg Elementary School, then met her husband Duane in Akron, Ohio, while teaching second grade at Lockwood Elementary in Coventry Township. After raising her children, she returned to teaching at Hobbits’ Pre-School in Richfield, Ohio.
Nancy loved the water and spent her later years boating with her husband and children on Salt Fork and Portage lakes.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Myron and Ismay Davis, and her son, Christopher Peterson.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Duane; son, Timothy, of Portage Lakes, Ohio; daughter, Kimberly McGrew (Eric), of Akron, Ohio; brother, John Davis (Cathy), of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law, Robert Peterson (Sherry), of Oconto Falls; sister-in-law, Verna Peterson, of Oconto Falls; nephews, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John Nicholas Davis.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Faith Lutheran Church, Akron, Ohio, with the Rev. Jean M. Hansen officiating. A time of gathering and remembrance will follow immediately in the church’s fellowship hall.
