The EZ Clean car wash has reopened in Oconto Falls under new ownership.
In November, Patrick Schneider renovated and reopened the car wash next to Mobil 22 and Ag Ventures, at 750 N. Main St., Oconto Falls. Schneider originally purchased the car wash 20 years ago and operated it for eight years.
Now that he’s back in business, his focus has returned to his clientele.
“I’m a perfectionist,” he said. “The first thing is I want them to have good customer service.”
EZ Clean offers two self-service bays and one automatic bay for cars and trucks, along with one self-service bay for semitrucks and recreational vehicles. Three vacuum stations have been equipped with new motors and bags.
Schneider offers a special each month. The March special is buy two Panther Pride (super deluxe) car washes for $10 each and get one free. He also has been handing out free air fresheners.
People in the community might know Schneider as a minister at the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses or as a sales representative for Tri Star cleaning equipment and vacuums, for which he still provides equipment and repairs.
He’s also been a financial adviser, teacher and family counselor, but foremost, a businessman.
“I’ve always been an entrepreneur, since I was a little kid,” said Schneider, looking back on his days delivering newspapers, shoveling sidewalks and mowing lawns.
Schneider, of Oconto, has lived in the area for 40 years and resides in the Huff Jones House, the oldest home in Oconto County, built in the 1840s.
He said whenever he digs a hole in his yard, history greets him.
“There’s tons of ceramic stuff. Every now and then I’ll find some Indian artifacts. It’s real fun,” he said.
