Marvin A. Fredrick, 90, Coleman, passed away with his family by his side on Jan. 6, 2016. He was born on July 26, 1925, in Oconto Falls to Micke and Amelia (Krause) Fredrick.
Marvin graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1943. Following high school he worked on a family farm. Then he worked at Scott Paper.
Marvin married the love of his life, Ethel Nasgovitz, on Nov. 4, 1950. They moved to Milwaukee, where he worked at A.O. Smith. Then they moved to Two Rivers, where he worked at Hamilton Manufacturing. After moving to Coleman, he worked for Chadwicks Manufacturing and Roy Richards Company.
His greatest pleasure was woodworking in the shed with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, canning and wine making. He was also known for living in the house surrounded by blue bottles.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ethel; four children, Cheryl and Dennis Alexander, Bonnie and Don Bader, Dale and Audrey Fredrick and Annette Sobeck; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one 101-year-old sister, Helen Drath; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.
The family greeted relatives and friends Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Coleman, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon. Marvin was placed to rest at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Coleman.
