Jacqueline Ruth Kershek was born on July 13, 1931, to Gustave and Beatrice (Renel) Gollhardt in Green Bay. She moved to Oconto Falls as a young child, along with her sister and mother. She graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1949.
She married Joseph Kershek Jr. on Oct. 14, 1950. They farmed the family farm for 44 years and then retired in 1994. Jackie enjoyed doing yard work, growing flowers, doing better than the contestants on “Jeopardy,” making Sundays special for the families, and enjoying her grandchildren and now her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Joe; their three sons, Jerry (Barb) Kershek, John (partner John Potter) and Jeff Kershek (friend Lila); one sister, Karen Lewins; and one sister-in-law, Nancy Kershek; daughter-in-law, Leah Kershek; and godchildren, Dean Campbell and Melissa Mier; grandchildren, Jerry (Laurie) Kershek, Jim (Anny) Kershek, Tyler (Kristin Hildebrand) Kershek, Ross (Liz Buss) Kershek, Kaitlyn and Kyle Kershek; great-grandchildren, Zoe and Gabe Kershek; many nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Jolene (Gary) Zahn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Orville Heimke; a sister, Shirley Taycher; infant brother; in-laws, Joseph and Blanche Kershek; sister-in-law, Avrille Konitzer; and brothers-in-law, Alvin and Gaylord Kershek.
At Jackie’s request, a private family service was held. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery in Spruce.
