Doris E. Foth

Doris E. Foth, 83, of Wittenberg, fell asleep in Christ on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, at Applegate Terrace in Wausau.

Doris was born March 14, 1943, in Milwaukee, to Arthur and Evelyn (Finkler) Hedrick. On Jan. 29, 1964, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Foth at St. Paul Lutheran Church parsonage in Wittenberg. Together, they shared 62 years of marriage, building a life filled with friends, faith and cherished memories.

Throughout the years, Doris cleaned homes for many families and individuals in the community. She was also employed as a cleaner at Associated Bank, the former Clabough & Associates, Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home and St. Paul Lutheran Church, all in Wittenberg.

Doris found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved caring for her plants and flowers, gardening, baking and canning. She also enjoyed word searches, puzzles and listening to polka music. A woman of faith, Doris was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wittenberg and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML). She and Kenny enjoyed attending community church dinners together and traveling to places such as Branson, Hollywood, Washington, D.C., and the Ark Encounter. These activities and adventures provided many special moments throughout their years together.

Doris will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth Foth; her two children, Betty (Chuck Jr.) Reinke and Michael (Amy Jo) Foth; five grandchildren, Chuck, Sierra, Dylan (Vina Sylvester), Brianna and Claire Jo; great-grandchildren; sister, Darline Matsche; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Evelyn Hedrick; her stepfather, Frank Duray; her brother-in-law, Donald Matsche; her Finkler and Hedrick grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wittenberg, with Rev. Matthew Christians presiding. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg is assisting the family with arrangements. Memories and messages of support may be shared at schmidtschulta.com.
