Tombstones talk at historical society event

The 16th annual cemetery walk “If Tombstones Could Talk” will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 14-16.

The first two performances will be held outside at the Catholic Cemetery, 3024 N. River Road, Oconto. The finale will be presented indoors at the John B. LeMay Auditorium at Oconto High School, 1717 Superior Ave., Oconto.

Six historic people will be portrayed. Some of the individuals portrayed are well known in Oconto County history, while others are lesser known, and those attending will learn about various facets of their lives.

Tickets are $15 per person and will be sold through Sept. 7 at the Beyer Home and Carriage Museum, 915 Park Ave., Oconto. If any tickets remain unsold, they will be available for sale at Bay Impressions, 1109 Main St., Oconto. In addition, remaining unsold tickets will be available for sale prior to each evening’s performance.

Complimentary refreshments will be served to attendees. In the event of inclement weather, outdoor performances will be moved into the high school auditorium.
