Joan Delzer

Joan Ruth Delzer, 91, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025. She was born Oct. 8, 1933, to Max and Augusta (Jahnke) Brendemehl in Green Bay. She graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1952. Joan married George Delzer on Oct. 9, 1954, and together they ran a farm and homestead for the next 53 years in Town of Morgan. Joan and George raised two children, Phyllis and Paul. George and Joan enjoyed family visits from George’s four brothers and two sisters, and both Phyllis and Paul’s families dropping grandchildren off for extended stays learning farming chores over many summers. For her entire adult life, Joan was a proud member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan. She especially enjoyed serving with the Women of the ELCA. For a few years, she also taught Sunday School. Her favorite pastimes include baking, gardening and spending time with family. She is survived by both her children, Phyllis (Glen) Peebles and Paul (Jenny) Delzer; grandsons, Eric (Anne) Peebles and Adam (Katie) Peebles; granddaughters, Sabrina (Kevin) Delzer and Amber Delzer; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Lucia, Thomas, Margaret, Michael, Domnic, Noah, Logan (Morgan), Maggie, Addison and Sophia; and one great-great-grandchild on the way. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Petka and Anita Hansen, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Augusta; husband, George; daughter-in-law, Anita Delzer; siblings, Haven Brendemehl and Lois Delzer. Family is invited and welcome to gather after 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Morgan. A service will begin at noon with Pastor Katy Tomlanovich officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Cemetery. A special thank you to all staff at Woodside Lutheran Home, Unity Hospice, and Jones Funeral Service for all of their care given to Joan and the special friendships nurtured over the last few years of Joan’s life.
