The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is seeking public input on a proposed resurfacing project on state Highway 29 from South Highline Road east of Bonduel to the Shawano/Brown County line.

The existing concrete pavement on Highway 29 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the DOT is proposing:
• Repairing or replacing the concrete pavement joints and cracks on Highway 29 and along the Highway 29 and state Highway 55 interchange ramps. Repairing versus replacing the joint or cracks will depend on the severity of joint deterioration.
• Resurfacing the asphalt shoulders on Highway 29 within the concrete joint repair sections.
• Replacing asphalt shoulders to full depth on the Highway 29 and Highway 55 interchange ramps.
• Replacing the concrete pavement to full depth along Highway 29 westbound from River Road to just east of Broadway Road and along Highway 29 eastbound from County Road F to Spruce Road.
• Repairing and cleaning five culvert pipes under Highway 29 along with cleaning and clearing brush from the ditches.
• Replacing guardrail systems along Highway 29 and Highway 55.
• Resurfacing Highway 55 from County Road S to just east of the Highway 29 westbound entrance ramp.
• Resurfacing the park and ride parking lot on Lot Lane west of Highway 29 and just south of County Road S.
During construction, Highway 29 will remain open to traffic using single-lane and shoulder closures, crossovers and bidirectional traffic. In addition:
• The Highway 29 and Highway 55 interchange ramps will be closed to traffic with a signed detour.
• Highway 55 will remain open to traffic utilizing lane closures and flaggers.
• The park and ride will be closed to traffic for a short time.
Construction currently is scheduled for 2028.
