Arthur George “Art” Buelter, 85, of Bowler, died on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at The Pines Post-Acute and Memory Care.
Art was born on April 21, 1939, in Shawano County, the son of George and Agnes (Steffen) Buelter.
On June 6, 1964, Art was united in marriage to Rita Gangler. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2021.
Art worked as a ranger for the Bowler DNR. Art also worked for the Bowler Fire Department, plowed snow and was on the town board. His favorite job was being out in the woods cutting firewood, tapping trees and enjoying nature. Art loved to travel, visiting several states.
Art is survived by his sister, Nancy; nieces and nephews; in-laws; the extended Schmidt family; and great friends and neighbors.
Art was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Rita.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Almon. Visitation will be on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
