Lena’s Brooks and Gillett’s DeBauch named most outstanding basketball players

Three local girls were among the five named to the Marinette & Oconto Conference all-conference first team for girls basketball. Honored were Lena senior Eva Brooks, Suring senior Bunny Cramer and Lena junior Madilyn Thomson. Brooks was selected as the most outstanding player. Lena senior Kali Fischer and Gillett sophomore Audrey Pate were named to the second team. Honorable mention status was earned by Gillett sophomore Maggie Kaczmarek and Gillett sophomore Hope Soper. For the boys, Gillett’s Jesse DeBauch was named most outstanding player. The senior was also a unanimous selection for the first team. Suring senior Michael Bailey and Lena senior Mason Spice were named to the second team. Suring sophomore Taylor Booth Stoffregen earned honorable mention status. Lena’s Lucas Heimke, a junior, was the only non-Coleman athlete named to the all-conference first team for boys wrestling. Among those earning second team honors were Gillett/Suring sophomore Gavin Staszak and Lena junior Max Peterson.
