Diane Lea Wopp

Diane Lea Wopp, age 78, of Clintonville, formerly of Wittenberg, passed away March 1, 2025, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano. She was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Wausau, the daughter of Donald R. “Pete” Hanke and Doris Lorraine (Jensen) Hanke. She was a graduate of Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School. She married Dale Blum in 1966. They had two children. Diane and Dale went their separate ways after many years of marriage. She later married Paul Wopp on March 20, 1999. Diane worked as a line worker at S&E Enterprises window manufacturing company for many years and later worked at North Star Mohican Casino Resort and Ho-Chunk Gaming, before retiring. She was a very enthusiastic Green Bay Packers fan and loved watching the Packers play. She enjoyed feeding and watching her birds outside her apartment window in Wittenberg. She loved collecting anything with owls on it. She was a Christian and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wittenberg for many years, and faithfully attended until her health no longer allowed. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Diane is survived by two children, son Richard (Rhonda) Blum of Thayer, Missouri, and daughter Juli (Burt) Brady of Tigerton; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Brenda) Brady, Josh (Amanda) Brady, Garrett Blum and Abigail Blum; five great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Brady, Jaxson Brady, Jessalyn Brady, Cal Christianson and Haley Brady; two sisters, Donna Zeinert and Doris (Ron) Matz; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Dale Blum; husband, Paul Wopp; brother, Daryl Hanke; and brother, David Hanke. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at St Paul Lutheran Church, Wittenberg. Rev. Matthew Christians will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg, is assisting the family with arrangements.
