Randolph J. Elbe, formerly of Gillett, passed away on Sept. 4, 2024, in Sacramento, California. Randy was born on May 19, 1948, in Shawano to the late Kenneth and OraBelle (Kobs) Elbe.
Randy attended Gillett High School graduating with the class of 1966. He attended Wartburg College in Iowa before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force, Randy was part of the Air Force Drum and Bugle Corps. Upon discharge from service, he continued his education, receiving his masters of business administration, and spent his career in finance.
As a young man, Randy played drums in the high school band where he received numerous awards. After high school, he continued his love of music by playing drums and singing in several rock bands.
Randy loved woodworking and challenged himself by building a beautiful sailboat. He was an avid reader and enjoyed bonsai, backpacking, fishing, duck hunting, cross country driving and, of course, his grandchildren.
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathleen; his daughter, Elise; his stepsons, Mark (Christine) Wills, Brian (Genifer) Wills; stepdaughter, Erin (Dave) Boatman; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister, Deborah Erickson, Gillett; and a brother, Kenneth Elbe, Green Bay; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Constance Lopez; and a brother, John Elbe.
A memorial service for Randy was held on Sept. 12 at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 14673 Cantova Way, Rancho Murieta, California. Memorials can be made in Randy’s name to a charity of your choice.
