Pittsville Invitational
Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s girls cross-country team finished first and the boys were second at the Pittsville Invitational on Aug. 29.
Rory Salveson was the sole first place finisher for the Chargers, crossing the finish line in 21.40.
Nor Bushman was third in 22:12, with Harper Kroll in fifth in 22:30 and Gabrielle Timm in seventh in 23:40.
Also competing for Wittenberg-Birnamwood were Sydney Schairer in 20th in 28:08 and Jayden Zeinert in 29th place in 31:13.
The boys were led by Landon Meronk, who finished ninth in 21.46.
Five more finished in the top 20. They were Jonas Bushman, 14th, 22:54; Milo Salveson, 16th, 23:07; Hayden Miller, 18th, 23:11; Marty Nowinsky, 19th, 23:12; and Taras Guk, 20th, 23:16.
Carson Meronk placed 21st in 23:22; Dalton Fletcher was 23rd in 23:42; Coleton Mueller finished 24th in 23:44; and Carter Walvogel was 32nd in 25:41.
Standing Rock Invitational
Marion’s Brooklyn Ahlers finished 27th in the 3,200-meter run and Bella Conover placed 40th in the 5,000-meter run at the Stevens Point invitational. Ahlers’ time was 16:28.80, and Conover’s was 29:43.40.
Also in the longer run, Bridget Much placed 62nd in 34:40.50, and Mieka Hirshovn was 69th in 41:35:00.
For the boys, Tristan Herro placed 33rd in the 5,000-meter run. His time was 23:53.80.

Freedom Irish Invite
Gillett’s Bradyn Wendorff won the 5,000-meter run at the Freedom invitational with a time of 17:40.28.
Teammates Nash Stage placed 16th in 19:51.20 and Scott Herroux was 24th in 20:52.20.
In the 3,200-meter run, Noah Soper led Gillett with a sixth place finish in 9:43.00.
He was joined by Braxton Valley, 17th, 10:31.20; Alex Valley, 25th, 11:05.50; Johnny DiMaggio, 26th, 11:10.80; Ryker Gruel, 48th, 12:50.50; and Van Blaskowski, 60th, 14:18.30.
Amanda Pate finished second in the girls 3,200-meter run in 10:12.20. She was joined by Halle Wendorff, who place 23rd in 11:56.90, and Sharlese Stage, who placed 44th in 12:50.30.
In the 5,000-meter run, Hope Soper led Gillett, placing 11th in 23:27.30.
Sophia Limberg placed 27th in 23:57.20; Maggie Kaczmarek was 37th in 26:39.20; Lily Hansen placed 40th in 26:54.50; and Cilena Guns finished 54th in 32:53.70.
