Leola Anderson, 73, of Suring, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, with her family by her side, after fighting cancer for two years. Leola was born on Jan. 28, 1950, to the late Roland and Mary Philippi. She grew up in Suring and went to the Suring School, where she was the first girl to join FFA. Leola married Danny Anderson Sr. on July 18, 1970. The couple bought a farm and she continued her passion of farming and caring for animals with her husband.
Leola enjoyed spending time with her family, going on trips and pickings rocks for gems. She enjoyed selling Avon to her local community and friends for over 40 years.
Leola is survived by her husband of 53 years, Danny; four children, Darilyn Anderson, Danny Anderson Jr., Jodi (Chuck) Fetterly and Dawn (Brad) Gruszczynski; 10 grandchildren, Brendan, Cole, Dustin, Angel, Carrie, Hailey, Tolyn, Brittany, Dakota, and Justin; four brothers, Roger (Mary) Philippi, Ronald Philippi, Bob Philippi, and Roy (Danelle) Philippi; sister, Laurie (Michael) Wentworth; brother-in-law, Wade (Carol) Anderson; and sister-in-law, RoJean Ashley. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, sisters- and brothers-in-law.
A celebration of life will be held for Leola on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the How Town Hall from noon until 3 p.m.
