Election season has begun for the Wisconsin Assembly, and Rep. Elijah Behnke kicked off his mission for a fourth term in office with a campaign fundraiser May 14 at Scolly’s Hometown Pub in Pulaski.
Attorneys representing the Oconto Falls School District have filed a motion to dismiss a civil rights lawsuit against the district in which several plaintiffs accused the district of systematic sexual misconduct toward students.
Earlier this year, several former students filed a lawsuit alleging that for more than 20 years, the district failed to protect students from a predatory environment.
The Shawano County Dispatch Center was awarded an over $700,000 grant for new equipment, but elected officials have to sign off on it first as it comes with a need for county funds that aren’t part of the current budget.
The grant is from Round 2 of the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs Office of Emergency Communications PSAP Grant. The application was due in February and awarded May 1.
