New principal hired for Shawano Community Middle School

Several personnel changes were approved by the Shawano School Board on Jun 18, including hiring Krisy Bogacz as the new principal at Shawano Community Middle School. Bogacz has been an instructional coach at the middle school since 2012. Other new hires were Abigail Tapanila as a middle school gym teacher; Allison Davis, Olga Brener Intermediate School, special education; Julia Bowman, speech and language pathologist; Nicole Boivin, middle school, English language arts; and Jessica Gardner, Olga Brener, third grade. Internal transfers approved were Logan Stefl, district substitute teacher to eighth grade English language arts; Brittany Pensis, counselor from the middle school to Shawano Community High School; and Julia Richmond, from 4-year-old kindergarten to kindergarten. Resignations approved were from Stacey Warnke, high school counselor; Jeremy Wilkinson, middle school social studies; Ryan Koenig, high school business education; Jenna Perras, Hillcrest Primary School kindergarten; Mikaela Lee, Hillcrest social worker; and Heather Krause, middle school sixth grade. Mary Reyes, a high school special education paraprofessional, retired after 28 years with the district. Also retiring was Terri Pedersen, another high school special education paraprofessional who had 22 years with the district.
