Mark D. Marciniak, 53, of Shawano, passed away peacefully late Thursday evening, June 20, 2014, at the Appleton Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Mark was born March 3, 1961, in Platteville, a son of the late Valerian “Larry” and Elizabeth (Gehr) Marciniak.
Mark had been employed at Lakeland Industries in Shawano and later was a self-employed handyman. Mark enjoyed trips to the casino and playing the lottery. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Shawano.
Mark is survived by his brother, Timothy Marciniak, of South Wales, New York; his loving niece, Madison Marciniak, of Holland, New York; his stepmother, Bonnie Marciniak, of Shawano; two stepsisters, Tammy (Frank) Gille, of Shawano, and Vicky (Dave) Jung, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and one stepbrother, Dean (Linda) Koeller, of Shawano. He is further survived by his aunts and uncles, Jack (Betty) Marciniak, Joe Rank, Al (Eleanor) Marciniak, Pat (Rosie) Marciniak, Joan Pregler, Rose (Jim) Jensen, Mary (Ken) Rine, Cindy (Rick) Hurlbert, Gene (Shirley) Gehr and Janice Gehr. He has numerous cousins who survive him as well.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, David Marciniak.
A funeral Mass for Mark will be celebrated on Friday, June 27, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Shawano. The Rev. Luke Ferris will be the celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the gymnasium at Sacred Heart on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of Mass.
