Marie E. Frank, 93, of Gillett, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016.
Marie was born on July 11, 1922, in the town of Underhill to the late Paul and Helena (Wilke) Dicke. After graduating from Gillett High School she was employed by the telephone company in Milwaukee. On Dec. 26, 1945, Marie was united in marriage to George Frank in Milwaukee and moved to his family dairy farm in the town of Underhill, where they farmed until 1977. In her free time, she loved baking bread, cooking, sewing, gardening and enjoying her family. She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hintz.
Marie is survived by one son, Gary (Jean) Frank, of Gillett; four daughters, Wanda (Noel) Nienstedt, of Gillett, Jane Frederick, of Gillett, Paula (Norman) Buhrandt, of Suring, and Lynn (Michael) Kaufman, of Cary, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, Carlye Frank, Lindsey Nienstedt, Kelli Frederick, Kyle (Kelly) Frederick, Trisha (Jason) Stage, Tabatha (Rich) Koehler, Paul (special friend, Angie) Buhrandt, Kurt (JoAnna) Buhrandt, Mark (special friend, Sarah) Buhrandt, Kathryn (Josh) Zellmer and Aubrey Kaufman; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her twin sister, Kathryn Firgens, of Bonduel, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, George; one grandson, Lance Frank; her parents; one brother, Martin Dicke; a sister-in-law, Elvira Dicke; and a brother-in-law, Clarence Firgens.
A memorial service for Marie will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 6905 Red Banks Road, Gillett, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, with the Rev. Michael Paholke officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Christ Lutheran Church.
