Margaret H. Pitera, 95, of Gresham, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Shawano. She was born on Sept. 15, 1918, to the late Gayle and Addie (Leggett) Wilcox in Tomahawk.
On June 17, 1939, Margaret married Lyle Weiland. He preceded her in death in 1986. Margaret married Stan Pitera in May 1999. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Margaret was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Red River. She loved sewing, making clothes for her daughters and their dolls, and making art and craft projects. Dancing was very important to Margaret, and she was able to enjoy dancing for many years. She also enjoyed reading, watching television, going to the casinos and playing the game of Skip O. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Carole Kindness, of Gresham, and Sandra (Grant) Olson, of Arkansas; five grandchildren, Steve Olson, Michelle Ritchie (fiance, Bill), Jim Olson, Susie Olson and Mike (Lisa) Rebman; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Nyman, of Waukesha; a brother, Jerry (Candy) Wilcox, of Illinois; a special family friend, Clayton Rebman; many nieces and nephews; her many friends and her special dog, Brutus.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lyle Weiland and Stan Pitera; three sisters and a brother; a son-in-law, Elliott Kindness, in 2000; a brother-in-law, Ernie Nyman.
A memorial service for Margaret will be held at a later date.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
