Two people with a combined 60 years of experience retired in January from the maintenance department with Shawano County.
Steve Dreher, director of facilities and grounds, retired Jan. 3 after more than 29 years of service to the county. Julie Harland, office and purchasing specialist with the department, retired Jan. 18 after more than 31 years of experience with the county.
Nicholas Hesse was hired as the public facilities manager at an annual salary of $92,976.
Hesse has an associate’s degree from Fox Valley Technical College with training as an auto body and paint refinish technician and journeyman millwright.
He has more than 10 years of related experience in a variety of positions ranging from shop manager to lead industrial maintenance technician, with additional experience in management and planning.
To replace Harland, county staff looked down the hall to the planning and development department. Dana Krause will transfer from that department, where she served as an office assistant to the maintenance department.
The county will now seek to fill Krause’s former position.
