The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting to discuss the acceptance of dredged material at Mar-Oco Landfill at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at the Stephenson Town Hall, W11280 County Road X.
Mar-Oco Landfill, a public facility serving Marinette and Oconto counties, has proposed a special waste acceptance plan to screen nonmunicipal wastes that may be accepted at the landfill. The plan includes the acceptance of dredged material.
Mar-Oco Landfill proposes to use the dredged material as alternate daily cover within the landfill.
The purpose of the meeting is to solicit public comment on the proposal. There will be a brief introduction and explanation of the project by DNR and Marinette County representatives. The meeting will then be opened up for questions and comments.

All public comments will be considered by DNR officials prior to a decision on whether to approve the acceptance of dredged material at Mar-Oco Landfill.
