Keith Wirtz

Keith James Wirtz, 84, Oconto Falls, died Sunday evening, Feb. 15, 2026. He was born April 4, 1941, in Oconto Falls to Chester and Anna (Schindel) Wirtz. He attended area schools and graduated from Oconto Falls High School with the class of 1959.

On Oct. 21, 1961, Keith married Judy Kratz at St. Anthony Catholic Church. They lived all of their married life in Oconto Falls where he worked in maintenance as a welder and mechanic for Scott Paper. He enjoyed traveling all over with Judy, including spending winters in Texas for 11 years. When at home, Keith enjoyed working in his shop doing various projects for others. Favorite pastimes included going up north to snowmobile and spending time with friends. He was a long time member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Survivors are his children, Kevin (Julie) and Devin (Ashley) Wirtz; three grandchildren, Josh (Aly) Wirtz, Amanda (Tom) Zielinski and Matthew Wirtz; four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Easton Zielinski, and Michael and Kellen Wirtz; sister, Beverly Krause; brother, Larry (Lynn) Wirtz; and many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Judy; parents, Chester and Anna; brother, Chet (Janice) Wirtz; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Clausen, Betty Kratz, Kathleen Kratz and infant Margaret; and brother-in-law, Norman (Bev) Kratz.

Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls until the time of service. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
