John W. Pingel

John W. Pingel, age 84, of Bowler, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Birch Hill Health Services, Shawano. John William Pingel was born May 28, 1940, in the Town of Morris, son to the late Roy F. and Marie E. (Olson) Pingel. He attended Bowler schools and joined the workforce soon after. He moved to the Milwaukee area and later to Indiana where he worked for the Ford Motor Co. as a foreman for eight years. He returned to the area and farmed in the Town of Almon from 1973-86. John later worked for Ort Logging for nine years, and finally drove a log truck for Kemps Trucking until his retirement in 2011. John enjoyed following NASCAR and his hero Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed catching the races at Shawano Speedway for many years. He is survived by his daughters, Julie Pluger and Jennifer Bierman; sons, John Pingel Jr. and Randy (Kiley) Pingel; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Hull; and brother, Roy (Karen) Pingel Jr. John was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Ricky, Joe and William Pingel; a daughter in infancy, Rebecca; grandson, Aaron Pingel; and his brothers, Robert, Richard and James Pingel. Funeral services will be held 11 am. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Tigerton, with the Rev. Clifford Kessen officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Bowler, following the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
