For the second time in six weeks, Saturday night races were held at the Shawano Speedway. The other four nights were canceled due to rain conditions.
On May 9, Clintonville’s Lucas Lambereis won the 20-lap IMCA modifieds feature race after starting in 10th place. Pole sitter Adam Abbey, of Marion, was second, and Trace Yeager, of Shawano, was third.
Abbey won the first heat, and Yeager won the second heat.
Oconto Falls’ Cole Magnin started the IMCA sport modifieds 20-lap feature race in fifth place but crossed the finish line first for the win. He beat out Tigerton’s Dustin Wudstrack, who placed second, and Mattoon’s Logan Fleischman, who was third.
Suring’s Bryce Clements started on the pole and endued up placing eighth. Wins in the heat races went to Forrest Kernen and Shawano’s AJ Springborn.
Dan Michonski, of Marion won the 20-lap IMCA stock car feature race after starting in second. He topped Kyle Fredrick, of Oconto Falls, who was second, and Tyler Wilson, of Little Suamico, who was third.
Wilson won the first heat. Michonski won the second, and Fredrick won the third.
In the Shawano Mighty 4’s, the 12-lap feature race was won by Lucas Hacker, of Shawano. Clintonville’s Brad Wedtke was second, and Shawano’s Josh Fisken was third.
Hacker won the first heat, and Clintonville’s Tanner Westphal took the checkered flag in the second heat.
Shawano’s Corbyn Wassenbrerg started in seventh and placed first in the 20-lap USRA late models feature race.
Shawano’s Jarrid Curtin was runner-up, and Jason McFadden, of Jim Falls, placed third.
Heat races were won by Wassenberg and Larry Fitzsimmons, of East Bethel, Minnesota.
