Trio to perform at Clintonville holiday lunch

Clintonville’s annual Memorial Day parade Monday will be followed by a homecoming lunch featuring the vocal trio Trillium. The day will begin with a siren sounding at 7 a.m., followed by church bells ringing throughout the community. The parade will assemble at 8:30 a.m. A wreath will be placed at the bridge on Memorial Circle in W.A. Olen Park at 9:10 a.m. The parade will proceed to 11th Street and to South Main Street, and then to the Graceland Cemetery for the annual Memorial Day ceremony. The keynote speaker will be James L. Reigel. Mary Beth Kuester will be master of ceremonies. The invocation will be given by Pastor Christian Burg, St. Martin Lutheran Church. Also taking part are the Clintonville Veterans Firing Squad, Clintonville High School and Clintonville Middle School bands, American Legion Post 63, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 664, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2663 of Bear Creek, Tom Martin, Embarrass village president, and Julia Fenn, soloist. Jim Young, commander of the local American Legion Post, will be the officer of the day. Russell Adams is the parade marshal. Following the ceremony at the Graceland Cemetery, the parade will proceed to Riverside Cemetery in Embarrass for a ceremony at 11 a.m. The middle school band will go to Bear Creek for a parade at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at the Danish Cemetery in Bear Creek at 9:30 a.m., at Trinity Cemetery at 10 a.m. and at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bear Creek at 11:15 a.m. The lunch will be held at 12:15 p.m. at the Clintonville Civic Center on Main Street. Trillium will perform patriotic songs at the lung. The trio sings in three-part harmony, similar to the Andrews sisters. A limited number of walk-in tickets will be available.
