Tribal crime victims program earns FBI award

The Menominee Tribal Crime Victims Program has been named the 2023 recipient of the Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA) for the FBI Milwaukee Field Office. The Menominee Tribal Crime Victims Program is a partner with the FBI’s Victim Assistance Program in Wisconsin. The Menominee Tribal Crime Victims Program addresses the unique challenges faced by tribal members, working with the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Wisconsin to combat crime and seek justice for victims on the Menominee Indian Reservation. The local DCLA certificate presentation last month preceded the national ceremony, which takes place at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C., on April 19. Established in 1990, the DCLA honors individuals and organizations for their efforts in preventing federal crimes and enhancing law enforcement efforts in their communities. This award is given annually on behalf of FBI Director Christopher Wray.
