Ski Sharks holding raffle for donated watercraft

During a recent fundraiser for the Shawano Ski Sharks, the water ski team was surprised by Prime Powersports in Shawano with a donation of a 2014 SeaDoo Spark. Dave Passehl of the Ski Sharks approached Chris Gull, owner of Prime Powersports, to discuss creating a partnership with the watercraft business to help promote water skiing and other water sports. In addition to the team’s focus on building leaders through team work, Gull said he was particularly attracted to the team’s efforts to build an adaptive water skiing experience. Adaptive water skiing lessons are for those who have not had an opportunity to experience water sports due to a disability. The Ski Sharks will raffle off the SeaDoo watercraft as a fundraiser to offset the costs of the adaptive waterski equipment and insurance. “This is an incredible way for our team to continue to be a relevant tourist attraction for the city of Shawano,” Passehl said. “This generous donation to the Sharks gives an opportunity to continue giving back to the community that has been so generous to us. We see this donation as another example of how our city, park and rec, local businesses and individuals support the efforts of the Ski Sharks.” Raffle tickets are for sale at Prime Powersports, Thrivent Financial and Edward Jones and will be available at all water ski shows this summer. The drawing will be held at the intermission of the Ski Shark’s final show, Aug. 13. For information about the Ski Sharks, call Passehl at 715-851-6969.
