The Shawano School Board will change its committee structure and meeting dates beginning in July, with the board approving the changes at its June 18 meeting.
Board meetings will now be held the fourth Monday of each month, two weeks later than what had been the norm.
Superintendent Kurt Krizan said the new date would allow the board to receive current financial information.
“Currently, the board receives financial information that is almost two months old at the time of their meeting,” he said. “For example, April reports are shared in June.”
Due to meeting earlier in the month, the previous month’s complete financial picture cannot be prepared in time for the meeting. Moving the meeting back will allow for that information to be complete.
The new operations committee will meet the second Monday of the month. This committee’s charge includes finance, facilities, human resources and technology.
A student success and relationships committee will meet as needed, with a goal of meeting quarterly at a minimum. Topics include learning, student services and policies.
An executive committee will also meet as needed, again quarterly at a minimum.
