Sarah M. Kaquatosh, 39, of Neopit, unexpectedly began her journey to the Spirit World on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sarah was born on Nov. 19, 1974, to the late Everette “Butch” Waupoose Sr. and Elmira “Jeannine” (Caldwell) Waupoose. She attended school at St. Anthony’s and Menominee Indian High School. After graduating she was employed a Menominee Tribal School, the Menominee Tribal Bingo Casino and later Mohican Bingo until 1997.
On July 16, 2004, Sarah was united in marriage to Warren Kaquatosh Jr. and began her family, devoting each and every day to them.
Sarah had a love for softball, daily walks, crossword puzzles, playing Bingo, laughing and spending time with friend and family, especially her precious daughters, Patricia and Cassanndra. She spent a lot of time doing volunteer work at the Menominee Tribal School and St. Anthony’s Parish. She helped family and friends in any way she could.
Sarah is survived by her loving husband, Warren, and her precious daughters, Patricia Marie and Cassanndra Ann, Neopit; her mother Elmira “Jeannine” Waupoose, of Neopit; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Warren and Anita Kaquatosh Sr.; her siblings, Emmeretta (special friend Wade Lyons) Corn, Neopit, Lori (Dean) Waupoose, Keshena, Patricia (Patty) and Anthony (Snub) Sparks, Neopit, Everett Waupoose Jr., Lakeland, Fla., and Romilda (special friend Clifford Madosh III), Neopit.
She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Donna, Elmira, Ashley, Amos, Renetta, Dean, Forrest, Emmie, Dionne, Clifford IV, Dallas, Christina, Lanayea, Everett III, Skye, Winter; numerous great-nieces and -nephews; and special godsons Dean Waupoose Jr. and Daelian Madosh.
She was preceded in death by her father, Everette “Butch” Waupoose Sr.; her grandparents, Alexander Sr., Sarah Waupoose, “Joe John,” Myrtle Caldwell; niece, Hope Lynn Menore; and special friends Misty Waubanascum and Jackie Sanapaw.
A funeral Mass for Sarah will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. The Rev. David McElroy, O. Praem, will be the celebrant. Interment will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Neopit. Relatives and friends may call at the Menominee Tribal Community Center in Neopit after 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. A parish wake service will be conducted Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Community Center.
