Pulaski shuts out Appleton East, Kaukauna

Pulaski’s girls tennis team easily defeated its three opponents Aug. 19 at Appleton West. The Red Raiders downed the host school 6-1 and then shut out Appleton East and Kaukauna by 7-0 scores. Pulaski 6, Appleton West 1 Against Appleton West, Pulaski won three of the four singles matches. Ruth Krause, at No. 1, won 6-1,6-1; No. 2 Aubrie Schluessler won 6-4, 6-1; and No. 4 Anna Krause won 6-7 (3), 7-5 , 11-9. Appleton West’s Ella Reetz beat Pulaski’s Isabella Skalecki, No. 3, 6-2, 6-7 (7), 10-5. The Red Raiders won all of the doubles matches. At No. 1, Alyssa Eggert and Addison Heezen won 7-6 (4), 6-1; No. 2 Ayla Groteluschen and Linde Lemerond won 6-2, 6-0; and the No. 3 duo of Hailey Jansen and Gretchen Rottier won 6-2, 6-1. Pulaski 7, Appleton East 0 The Red Raiders had an even easier time against Appleton East, losing only three singles games and one doubles game. Ruth Krause defeated Aubrie Erickson 6-1, 6-1. Schluessler won 6-0, 6-0, and Skalecki won 6-0, 6-0. Anna Krause won 6-0, 6-1. In doubles, it was Eggert and Heezen winning 6-0, 6-1. Winning by 6-0, 6-0 shutouts were Groteluschen and Lemerond at No. 2 and Jansen and Rottier at No. 3. Pulaski 7, Kaukauna 0 It was more of the same against Kaukauna, although there were a few more lost games. Ruth Krause defeated Ali VandeHey 6-1, 6-2, while Schluessler won 6-3, 6-1. Skalecki won in a 6-0, 6-0 shutout, and Anna Krause was victorious in identical 6-2, 6-2 sets. Eggert and Heezen had little trouble in their 6-1, 6-0 victory. Groteluschen and Lemerond won with two 6-0 sets, and Jansen and Rottier won 6-1, 6-0.
