Berrylakers showed their spirit and patriotism by wearing red, white and blue for the annual Fourth of July boat parade and competition July 5 at Berry Lake. The theme was Patriotic.
Nine families participated.
First place went to the Jensen family for best family performance. Pat Jensen played the national anthem on his trumpet as they made their way around the lake, and family members dressed in patriotic costumes, including Captain America and the Statue of Liberty.
Second place went to the Raether family, whose children did a great job reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Third place went to the Holman family for their presidential tribute.

In 2015 the competition on the Fourth of July will be a dock/beach decorating contest, and the theme will be “Tropical Beach Party.”
