Panthers second at Showdown

It was a second-place finish for the Oconto Falls High School volleyball team Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Showdown volleyball tournament. The Panthers lost to Union Grove 2-1 in the championship match. Union Grove won the first game 25-18, Oconto Falls rallied to win the second game 25-23, but fell 15-13 in game 3. Oconto Falls went 6-1 at the two-day, 32-team tournament. The Panthers beat Middleton, Omro and Owen-Withee on Friday. On Saturday, Oconto Falls beat Baraboo, Green Bay Notre Dame and Middleton again. Middleton took third in the tournament. McKenna Larsen had nine aces, 60 kills, 46 assists and 41 digs during the tournament. Carly Lemke had 39 kills and 12 blocks. Liz Watzka had 55 assists and 14 digs. McKayla Johnson had 35 assists.
