Shawano County Sheriff’s Department Feb. 25 Deputies responded to 22 incidents, including an animal bite of County Road F in the Town of Angelica; assisting with a fire on Cedar Road in the Town of Angelica; operating without a license on Lake Drive in the Town of Wescott; assisting with a fire on Raguse Road in the Town of Wescott; three 911 calls; one reckless driving incident; one traffic hazard. Feb. 22 Deputies responded to 40 incidents, including fire on Red Tail Lane in the Town of Little Suamico, illegal burning near Frog Pond Road and County Road S in the Town of Oconto, 10 traffic stops, two traffic offenses, two citizen assists, one miscellaneous traffic incident, two 911 hangups and two open lines, one ambulance call. Proceedings of Feb. 23 • Sean Michael Schulz, 32, Suring, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of THC, in connection with an incident that occurred May 31, 2023.

• Bucky J. Ewers, 47, Black River Falls, pleaded no contest Feb. 21 to two counts of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Judge Katherine Sloma levied fines and court costs totaling $2,350.50 and sentenced Ewers to 209 days in jail, deemed time served. • Shawn R. Homan, 49, Shawano, pleaded no contest Feb.

The Shawano-Menominee Recovery Center exists to help people battle alcohol, drug and other issues, but the program is in need of a helping hand, as well. Dozens of people gathered at the center Feb. 21 to discuss short- and long-term plans for its future, and it was revealed that the center was originally slated to close its current location at 710 E. Green Bay St.
